The Brewery

52 Chiswell Street

30 – 1800

What you need to know

Just a stone’s throw away from Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations, The Brewery is arguably one of London’s leading event venues. Formerly the site of the famous Whitbread Brewery, the now 1800 capacity event venue has six unique event spaces, each with their own character and history. Let’s start with the Porter-Tun; the venue’s largest and most versatile space, boasting a 170-foot king post timber roof and a capacity of 1000 guests for a standing reception, 700 for a seated dinner and 900 for a theatre style conference. There is also a fantastic mezzanine area which acts as a great pre-dinner drinks space or breakout area. Then there’s the King George III; situated on the ground floor, this interesting room has a barrel-vaulted ceiling, exposed brickwork and beautiful period lanterns accommodating up to 300 for a dinner and 275 for a theatre style conference. The King George III also connects with the Queen Charlotte and Lower Sugar Room acting as great breakout spaces, keeping your guests self-contained in one area of the building. The Smeaton Vaults are two interconnected spaces located on the lower ground floor, providing a cool, blank canvas space for meetings, product launches, receptions and dinners. Each of the six rooms can be hired individually, but for those large conferences and brand events, an entire venue takeover is a must. We suggest using the Porter-Tun as your main plenary space, with the other five rooms as breakout and catering spaces. Alternatively, if it’s a product launch or brand event you’re organising, you can get really creative with each space, creating a unique and immersive experience as guests explore this historic venue.
